Fertilizer, in particular, is commonly used by farmers to speed the process of crop growth. Unfortunately, this practice can greatly impact the environment. Every 100 kilograms of fertilizer produces one kilogram of carbon emissions. With our populations steadily increasing, it is important to find alternatives to such effects. GECO Organic Waste Composting works to create organic soil that is healthier for you and the environment by using less or no fertilizer. By supporting this project, you directly contribute to re-building our basic agricultural industry and preserving the earth.
Sichuan Household Biogas
One Credit = One Metric Ton CO2e The Sichuan Household Biogas project develops household biogas digesters (closed structures) that capture methane emissions from small livestock farms, supplies cook stoves that replace the burning of coal openly indoors, drastically reducing fossil fuel consumption and improving indoor air quality.
Ugastoves Efficient Cook Stoves
One Credit = One Metric Ton CO2e Over 3.3 million people die every year from indoor air pollution caused by dirty cookstoves. Ugastoves provides the residents of Uganda with clean cookstoves with reduces fuel consumption. This saves the residents money, improves air quality, and reduces deforestation.
Xuyong Household Biogas
One Credit = One Metric Ton CO2e This project develops household biogas digesters and cook stoves that capture methane emissions from manure pits at micro-scale farms, replace coal cookstoves with biogas ones, and improve indoor air quality in some of the poorest parts of Sichuan, China.
Save Rainforest in Brazil
One Credit = One Metric Ton CO2e By protecting 148,974 hectares of Amazonian rainforest from deforestation, providing clean cook stoves, training the local community of 80 families, and linking fragmented ecosystems, this Project will prevent nearly 22.2 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions while protecting valuable biodiversity.
