India-based companies suffer from inadequate energy supply on a consistent basis and there is demand from companies to develop alternative captive and grid connected power supplies. We advise on project types and locate the financing for clean energy projects that can operate as an additional power feed for companies in all sectors. 

• Renewable Energy Project Management - we assist project developers with project management tasks, permitting requirements and on-going management

We work with U.S., EU and Indian companies to develop renewable energy projects. We advise companies on optimum project types to meet their needs that can include, but not be limited to: Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) goals and requirements, GHG emission reduction, captive power, carbon offset generation and developing additional sources of clean energy as a cost containment for environmental and GHG regulations for a company. We will co-invest and/or locate equity through our investor network or our future Clean Energy fund. We source debt through the commercial or development banks with whom we have relationships.

We have direct experience working on behalf of investors in biomass and solar. We have developed an extensive check list for land acquisition, permitting, engineering, obtaining all regulatory sign-offs from state and local government organizations, developing bid packages for subcontracting, comparing equipment costs and purchase, applications for debt and closure, project management, coordination of reporting for investors, debt providers and power purchasers (if applicable) as well as all the required licenses and approvals.

• Project Finance for Renewable Energy (RE) - we source financing for projects that we consider viable and meet our due diligence and financial requirements

We work with utilities and other companies that plan to develop RE projects and provide them with financial projections for specific project types. We have developed relationships with specialized commercial banks that are prepared to finance RE and know the industry well. We have practical knowledge of project costs and develop financing proposals that include commercial financing, development bank financing as well as tax incentives and grants.

• Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) - we assist in negotiating flexible customized Renewable Energy Credit Agreements and manage the transaction process.

• Renewable Energy Loans, Grants and Tax Incentives - we advise investors and companies on available subsidies and incentives provided through state and national programs.

• Carbon Finance for Renewable Energy - we provide carbon offset generation services for renewable energy projects in developing countries

In the U.S., most RE projects do not qualify to earn carbon credits, while they can be eligible to earn credits under the CDM or voluntary standards if the projects are located in emerging countries. Our portfolio of projects in India includes solar PV, solar CSP and biomass. We have been involved in the development of small scale hydro and wind projects.

We perform feasibility assessments of strategies combining energy saving, renewable energy and where possible, carbon emission offset projects. Our approach includes a thorough technical assessment at facility and organization levels, providing a full analysis identifying the most effective measures, in terms of costs and long term benefits.
